In The City

This June 13 and 14, the music conference In The City Of New York will be held here at the W Union Square. The conference will have a number of panels about UK bands in the US and US bands in the UK. Should be interesting, but at $465, that's quite a price to pay to hear about the music industry.

In connection with the conference, there will be a bunch of UK bands playing at the Nokia Theater and the Highline Ballroom - including Enter Shikari, The Pigeon Detectives, The Rakes, Blood Red Shoes, and Biffy Clyro.

Update: Actual lineups have been announced, and The Happy Mondays will make their return to NYC for this event.

June 13th Nokia Theatre
-The Happy Mondays
-The Rakes
-The Pigeon Detectives

June 14th Highline Ballroom
-Biffy Clyro
-Enter Shikari
-Blood Red Shoes

As much as I love the Mondays, I don't think I'll be going to see them. Reports out of Coachella were that they were awful, and I just don't think this reunion is one to see (and Bez may not even be there - visa troubles apparently).

THANK YOU x 209 for the info on the city of new york gig(s?). all i knew before i found your site was that the pigeon detectives were doing a one-off gig at nokia theatre and i had to find out more info so i googled it and you came up. i'm a new yorker currently studying abroad in london and am going back to the states in the beginning of june and am very sad about this so finding out that, aside from the other bands, THE RAKES are also on the bill has made me EXCITED to come home. thank you thank you thank you!!
