Ringleader

Morrissey's Ringleader of the Tormentors popped up on my iPod this morning. I haven't listened to it at all since it came out, mostly because it's not that remarkable. My initial reaction was correct - it's not terrible, but it's not good either. Just average. Which for a Moz/Smiths fan is disappointing. On Ringleader, he really tries to stretch his vocals to that of a crooner, and it doesn't really work. "Life is a Pigsty" is phenomenal though.

Hey, thanks for checking in. I don't know about RotT - it's just kinda there - nothing awful (except the second track) but nothing great. Especially after the great You Are The Quarry. As for the other albums you mentioned, Kill Uncle is definitely an acquired taste, and Southpaw Grammar is really underrated (that's a great album). But yea, Malajusted was tough, other than Roy's Keen and Alma Matters.

As for new albums to check out, the new Bloc Party is expectedly good, The Good, The Bad, and The Queen is quite good, and the new Kaiser Chiefs' album looks to be a winner. If you're feeling electro, get Booka Shade's latest. Great stuff there.
