Festival Internacional de Benicassim
Oropesa del Mar, Spain
When I went to the Festival Internacional de Benicassim 2003, I stayed in Oropesa - the town just north of Benicassim and about 45 minutes north of Valencia by train. Spain was absoultely beautiful and really, really hot (the Festival is in August). I saw some great performances at the Festival, including Placebo, Blur, Echo and the Bunnymen, Moloko, Beth Orton, Tiga, Groove Armada, and Swayzak.

Hey Christopher, I was thinking of staying in orpesa del mar during beni this year. I was just wondering what transport was like to and from the festi each day, how much approx your apartment cost. Any details would be great.

I took a bus between Oropesa and Benicassim. It was pretty easy and convenient and cost only a Euro or two. The problem with the bus was that it stopped running around midnight, and the concert goes until 4am. So you either have to stay up all night until the first bus the next morning (8am) or find a cab in Benicassim.
I can't remember how much my hotel room cost, but it wasn't outrageous. Something like US$100 a night.
